Dragos Paul Mihai

Lecturer
Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy

Dragos Paul Mihai is a pharmacist since 2017, when he graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, which was granted by the same institution in 2021 based on his research on the pharmacology of CNS active compounds. He now holds a Lecturer position since 2022 at the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy and he is also a postdoctoral researcher, focusing on the discovery of novel transcription factor Nrf2 inhibitors as potential enhancers of photodynamic therapy in non-melanoma skin cancers. Other research areas that he actively pursues include the pharmacology of Transient Receptor Potential (TRP) channels, pharmacological mechanisms of natural compounds and discovery of novel protein kinase inhibitors. His main expertise is in the field of computer-aided drug discovery, leveraging computational tools to further expand on the pharmacology of small druglike molecules. Dr. Mihai is also pursuing a MSc degree in Neurobiology at the Faculty of Biology, University of Bucharest, getting further insights into the complex nature of CNS pathophysiology and experimental approaches used in tackling the function and modulation of TRP channels.
